What are the criteria to apply for the award?

To help you decide on whether you are eligible to apply for the Global Elevate Awards, ensure that you meet the following criteria:

  • Open to all parties and organizations throughout the world
  • Should be a technology solution
  • Should benefit people with disabilities or aging population
  • Solution should have been launched or implemented and available to the target audience between 1st April, 2014 to 30th October, 2015

Why should I nominate my accessible solutions?

There are lots of good reasons to nominate your solution for the Global Elevate Award:

  • The Global Elevate Award will be a live repository of solutions that have been launched or implemented between 1st April, 2014 to 30th October, 2015
  • People will have access to your solution worldwide
  • It will increase the awareness of your innovation and help you reach a larger audience

What type of technology innovations can I nominate?

Technology is fast changing. Just some of the areas that you can nominate an accessible innovation would be on the web, mobile, wearable technology, 3-D Printing, smart cities, the list is endless.

What is the criteria for the award?

The Jury will rate the accessible innovations or solutions on 3 criteria, namely, Identification of the Problem, Innovation and Impact.

The product I want to nominate was launched prior to 1st April, 2014 but an accessible feature was developed in the period of 1st April, 2014 to 30th October, 2015, can I nominate the product?

Yes, you surely can. We understand that products or services are often building in accessibility support and we want to promote such innovation, so please do nominate the innovation.

Can I nominate only a product or a service that targets people with disabilities or the elderly or a product or service with a feature that supports the needs of people with disabilities or the elderly?

You can nominate both types of innovation. If the innovation is created specifically for people with disabilities or elderly or even if it provides support that enables people with disabilities or elderly to use it effectively.

I know a great product, but I am not a representative of the company that has designed or developed it, can I nominate the accessible solutions?

Yes, you can nominate an accessible solution but we also need the organizations information that has designed or developed the solution, so we recommend you reach out to them and get the relevant information, so we can recognize them!

Do I have to register to put in a nomination?

Yes, if you want to nominate an accessible innovation, we need you to register and provide your correct credentials, since our editorial team might need to be in touch to get clarifications on the nomination.

I don’t know the launch date of the product, can I nominate an innovation?

Please do not nominate an innovation whose data is inaccurate. If you are unsure, write to the innovators and jointly nominate a solution.

I am an employee or the founder of the organization that has created the innovation, can I nominate the innovation?

Yes, you surely can. We would surely like to hear from you.

What are the different categories for the award?

Choose the category of the nomination carefully. The different categories for the award are:

  • Financial
  • Transportation
  • Healthcare
  • Media & Entertainment
  • Web
  • Education
  • Students Initiatives
  • Assistive Technology
  • Made in India

Can a nomination be under multiple categories?

Yes, a nomination can be under multiple categories.

What is the Nomination Process for the Global Elevate Award?

Once you submit a nomination,

  • Our Editorial team will work with you to get clarity on your nomination.
  • Our editorial team will approve or disapprove the nomination based on the eligibility criteria.
  • Once approved, your nomination will be uploaded on the Live repository of the Global Elevate Award
  • Out of all the nominations received, 3 solutions will be shortlisted in each category for the award

You have submitted a nomination and would like to make some changes?

Please ensure that you fill up the form carefully. Once a submission is accepted, we do not allow any changes.

When will the award be announced?

The award will be announced on 3rd March, 2016 at Techshare India 2016 in New Delhi.

How many awards will be given?

In each category, there will be 3 finalists and we will give 1 Award and 1 innovation will be runner up.

I don’t agree with the decision of the jury, what can I do about it?

The decision of the jury and the organizers will be final.

Do nominees need to attend Techshare India or Global Elevate Awards to be considered for an award?

You are not required to attend Techshare India or the awards gala to be considered for an award. Attendance of the summit is not considered in the judging process. Most nominees find Techshare India and the Award Gala an incredible opportunity to network with other members of the accessibility community.

What happens if I win and am not present?

You are not required to be present at the Award Gala to be a nominee, finalist, or winner. If you are chosen as a winner and are not present, your name and innovation will be announced on stage and a proxy you or Global Elevate Awards assigns will accept the award on your behalf. We will mail your award to you.

When and how will we be notified if we are selected as a finalist?

We will email all finalists by 30th January, 2016.

What is the format of Techshare India and Global Elevate Awards Gala?

The Techshare India 2016 will being held at New Delhi on the 3rd & 4th March, 2016. On the evening of the 3rd March, 2016 the Global Elevate Awards Gala will be held.
