Problem statement and how the Accessible Innovation solves the problem.

Traveling with public transport requires many cognitive functions that may be impaired among people such as those who have autism spectrum disorders, ADHD or developmental disorders. ResLedaren compensates for lacking senses of time and orientation by giving one reminders and an overview.

Users might benefit from different functions of ResLedaren. For some, the planning and memorization support might be the most important parts, while others may benefit the most from the orientation support and journey overview. With ResLedaren, you can select the functions that you in particular benefit from the most. It thereby facilitates travel for many, which is its main purpose.

Tell us who is the target audience and how the accessible innovation will benefit them. Please specify the different target audiences groups and provide numbers and statistics of your current clients as well as what is the potential number of people that the innovation can impact and empower:

ResLedaren is an app that provides assistance with planning before and during travel within public transportation. There is a big need for a tool for people with cognitive disabilities, such as autism, ADHD and intellectual disabilities, and also senior citizens.These are the target audience, as they all often have trouble using public transportation due to their issues with attention span, memory capabilities, and problem solving, particularly in a stressful and crowded environment.

ResLedaren assists you in planning and carrying out travel within the entire country's public transport. It reminds you of what you need to bring with you on your journey, and when it's time to go to the bus. ResLedaren creates an overview, where you can see all the stations you will be passing by during your journey, as well as where you currently are. ResLedaren also reminds you of things such as when to get off the bus and change to another form of transport. You can also see what way to go from the final station of your journey to reach the address you're headed for.

At the moment, there are around 7000 users of ResLedaren, and the app is steadily gaining about 800 new users every month.

How is the accessible innovative solution different from current practices or ways of solving the problem?

Within ResLedaren, we have gathered compensating strategies for frequently encountered difficulties before and during traveling with public transport. Thereby, the user is spared the need of using several different unwieldy tools before and during travel. Also, as looking at one's phone while traveling is something that many others do as well, the use of it doesn't stick out in the least.

How is the accessible innovative solution new, different or unique in terms of the technology or implementation?

At the moment, there is no other app or similar technological solution for these issues, and so, it is unique simply by the virtue of providing a complete, discrete and easily accessible solution for a commonly encountered problem.

How do you get the innovative solution to reach the target audience? Please elaborate on the your go to market strategy and which geographies do you currently work in and what are your future plans for marketing your innovation.

In other to spread the word about our innovative solution, we have worked together with, for example, Sweden's public transport company, as well as various interest groups and organizations centered around our target audience, as our belief is that the best way of marketing something is to have it directly connected to the organizations related to the target audiences.

At the moment, the app only exists within Sweden, but we intend to spread it outside of Sweden as well, as we have established contact with Australia and a handful of other countries where ResLedaren may be headed, and there is also talk of an EU project.

What is the potential impact of the innovative solution on the lives of the target audience? Please elaborate by providing statistics of the current impact and the potential impact.

A journey with public transport starts all the way back at the home. We need to be able to tell when to leave from home to make it to the bus. We need to remember to bring the things we need on the journey with us, such as our bus pass, wallet and mobile phone. We need to know where to switch to another bus or form of transport, and then how to get from the final station of our journey to our destination.

Through ResLedaren showing you where to get off, switch to another bus/metro line, and how to get to your final destination, it answers many questions that may be difficult to formulate and ask others about. Being able to travel between different locations is an important prerequisite for being able to participate in society.

Stories of how the Innovation has touched lives.

The app has been used by many, and so it has also affected many lives. For example, one user reports that their life has become more independent and enjoyable thanks to the app, as it gave them the ability to participate more actively in society. Also, many young people have expressed their appreciation for the app as well, as it allows their parents to send them reminders over the phone in a natural and informative way, rather than verbal nagging, which often only serves to make situations more stressful.
